Liz PichonFantastic Friday Finale!

Over 900 pupils and guests packed the Doncaster Dome on Friday 15th April for the fantastic finale of the 2016 Doncaster Book Award.

This amazing event featured:

  • Authors Liz Pichon and Pamela Butchart!
  • Samba!
  • Comic artist and illustrator Kev F Sutherland!
  • Cycling!
  • Lifeboats!
  • The Rio Olympics!

Samba dance workshop led by Chloe. We will devise a Samba-based dance for a group of students to lead a performance at the Finale.

Two special workshops will be led by artist Kate Sully and will allow students to make book-themed head-dresses for our Samba introduction at the Finale, and also animal masks.

DBA favourites Matt Haig and Chris Mould led an author workshop based on their Christmas book A Boy Called Christmas.

David BaddielDBA and David Baddiel rock the Doncaster Dome!

The Doncaster Book Award had its biggest ever launch this year when over 750 children and special guests joined comedian and author David Baddiel for a fabulous and fun-filled event at the Doncaster Dome on 1st October 2015.

The new home of the Doncaster Book Award is the Doncaster Dome! Here we will be able to cater for a much larger audience... now whole year groups can be accommodated! Interested schools are invited to contact lynnecoppendale(аt) to find out more.
