This book is probably one of my favourite David William books. I love David William and this is by far one of my favourites .My mum bought me this book ages ago, but at first I wasn’t interested at all until I started reading it. Like all of his other books, this one was so funny and enjoyable. 10/10 recommend

A barbell of laughs just wanted to be read it balances a message with the right amount of comedy. My favourite character is the Queen because it changes everything I think about what she's likes

Another hilarious David Walliams children's book. Gangster Granny tells the story of a young boy and his life seemingly normal granny. When Ben visits his granny some surprising events happen that normal granny's would never get up to. When Ben finds out about her secret identity he smiled and supported at granny's story. Things seem to go well until an unexpected tragedy strikes. If you have enjoyed this award winning authors earlier books I'm sure you'll have fun and laugh as much as I did. 9/10

Isabella from Year 7, Healing Academy, Grimsby:

Ever feel like your Granny might be a Cool Gangster? This is a great book for children aged 8 and over. There are amazingly descriptive pictures. Gangster Granny is great for young readers exploring the new world of Imagination, Wonder and Humor. David Walliams used all the funny moments we have as kids, exaggerated them into an Hilarious book. Just overall a classic, funny storybook.

Olivia from Year 6, Saltersgate Junior School:

I think I speak for everyone when I say that David is an amazing author. I used to think he was so overrated until I read this book. I think the story line is so amazing and I definitely would choose this over the movie. I just think that you can picture everything so well and you can just float off into your imagination. My favourite character is obviously the granny and I honestly love her so much! David did such a good job on this book but I would still not rate it 10/10. I definitely recommend this book!

My favourite character in this book was the Granny . I thought she was really cool . I didn’t score it a 10 because robbing is a bad thing to do .

Archie from Year 5:

This book is very funny and creepy; Ben is really bored and he doesn't like staying with his granny. He discovered that she is actually a gangster and then they go on a massive adventure. They eventually like each other a lot. I loved this book - I go to Travis St Lawrence in Hatfield.

William from Year 5, Saltersgate Junior School:

I love this book as it is really funny and I love David Walliams books. My favourite bit is where Ben and his granny meet the Queen and Granny asks if she wants a Murray mint. My also favourite bit is where Mr Parker comes into the house and Granny is doing naked yoga.

I think that this book is a very exciting and enjoyable book! I really enjoyed reading this and it is also very interesting so I recommend this book very much. It also has lots of cliffhangers in the book which I think is exciting so this is definitely a book to read!

Sophie from Year 7, Dixons Cottingley Academy:

A great story about not taking your Grandmother for granted as there is probably more than meets the eye. I loved this book as the characters were always keeping secrets from each other and pretending to be something they were not. The pushy parents were funny and I love Ben and his Granny but my favourite character was the Queen. Very funny story.
