Finlay from Year 6, Saltersgate Junior School:
I really enjoyed reading this book as it is very descriptive, funny and sad at times. this book is all about a boy named Charlie Merriam who runs away from home into a forest and wakes up in the stone age. my favourite part of the book was when Harby (the cave boy) was trying to pronounce words he said 'cholliemurram' instead of Charlie Merriam and 'spea' instead of spear. The wild way home is quite sad when they find Harby's mum was dead. I rated it 10/10 because this book has everything a good book needs. I recommend this book to people who like adventure stories as Charlie Merriam is very adventurous. Doe you think you will read it next?
Hannah from Year 6:
'The Wild Way Home,' is an excellent book and is full of adventure and uncertainty. The characters are really well developed and it is amazing how she creates the scenes as you feel like you are there and it is easy to imagine the picture in your head. When Charlie gets lost in a strange forest/world (Stone Age) he finds Harby, they soon become the best of friends and discover they both have baby siblings. It's a hard trick, can Charlie find his way home?
