This book was really good because it had a lot of interesting facts and some weird ones too I really enjoyed it .My favourite King was Albert the Unready because he peed in the holy water. I would recommend this book to someone who wants to find about the old Kings and Queens. It was full of amazing illustrations by Martin Brown. It made me feel addicted to it . Are you going to read it?
Chloe from Year 5, Saltersgate Junior School:
Horrible histories is a factual book filled with crazy kings, vicious queens and catchy poems. I found this book very intriguing and interesting , I just couldnâ?™t put it down! My favourite monarch has to be Ethelred the unready a hilarious knight with an unready personality! I loved reading about all the kings and queens and their puzzling lives and their whacky personalities. I would recommend this book to people who likes learning about history, ( the non boring one including teachers) and famous family trees.
Grace from Year 5, Saltersgate Junior School:
It is a good book quite funny especially the part when Ethelred peed in the holy water when he was being christened. This book is about some of the cruellest kings and quaintest queens in the history of the world. I think that people that want to be a historian or like history would love this book because it gives you a lot of information about the past and the kings and queens that ruled a lot of countries. In the book there is a rotten rhyme to help you remember all the kings and queens: Willie, willie,Henry,Steve,Henry three; one two three Neds Richard two Harrys four five six ... then who? So that is a bit of the song there is a lot more if you read it. My favourite monarch is Anne because when she died her body was so fat the coffin was almost square I found that funny! The potty poems were extremely funny and catchy.
GRACE from Year 5, Saltersgate Junior School:
Funny book very interesting. I think the funniest part of the book is when Ethelred peed in the holy water when he was getting christened. I found the book quite boring because I donâ?™t like history that much but if you like history i think you will love this book because you can learn a lot about the past. This book is about some of the cruellest kings and quaintest queens. My favourite monarch is Anne because when she died her body had swollen so large and fat that she was buried in a coffin that was almost square and i found that quite funny.
courtney from Year 5, Saltersgate Junior School:
If you love history then this is the book for you. My favourite King is King Arthur. My least favourite king is King Henry VIII. Would you like to find out about the top 50 Kings and Queens. Read it and tell me what you think.
Jorja from Year 5, Saltersgate Junior School:
I give it a 10 because one it was funny and two there was interesting facts but they didn't make them boring they made them exciting and fun by showing us a picture and making things funny but so of them are weird but strange things I would recommend this because I could read this again it was about people and how they died so I learnt a lot from this and I think you would so that's why I think you should read this.
eleanor from Year 5, Saltersgate Junior School:
I gave this book a 10 because I liked: all the information in it, it made history fun, it didn't say anything untrue &it had `TOP TEN KINGS & QUEENS`.My favourite part was the `POTTY POEMS`. Even though the pictures were fun the information was even better. This helped me learn much, much more about Kings and Queens. I would rate this book to readers that want to learn about Kings and Queens for extra work for school or just to help at home. It's a great book!
Imogen from Year 5, Saltersgate Junior School:
I found this book brilliant. I couldn't believe how many facts they put in but yet it was still extremely interesting and funny. This is one of the best books I have read so far. My two favourite parts were when a man peed in the holy water and when someone died on a toilet. I loved how they put a poem at the bottom of each page and how they put foul facts. I would definitely recommend this book to everyone. Do you think you would like this book? The author made me feel like I was transported back in time. Top 50 Kings And Queens was full of amazing illustrations.
Holly from Year 5, Saltersgate Junior School:
At first I didn't think this book was great but then I got into it. I found it very interesting and learnt lots of interesting facts from it. It was not only interesting but it was very funny. I enjoyed all of it and I liked the potty poems and the foul facts a lot. I would recommend this book for anyone even if you don't like history but especially if you do! The author made me feel like I was there and that I had been teleported because it seemed so real. It was brilliant! Are you going to read it and give it a try?
Isla from Year 5, Saltersgate Junior School:
This book is very interesting. It has lots of fun facts in it. For example: did you know Etherald the Unready peed in the holy water? Some of it filled me with discust, but most of it was good. I would recommend this book to 7-10 year olds.
Josh from Year 5, Saltersgate Junior School:
I enjoyed this book a bit because it was very interesting, but the thing I enjoyed the most was when they all tried to fight over being the King of England! Do you like history? Or kings and queens? If you do then this book is for you! It is full of interesting facts about kings and queens from many years ago right up to our current queen, Elizabeth II. The author made me feel really inspired about kings and queens and I now feel a lot more knowledgeable about events in the past. I didn't like there aren't many silly parts like in other Horrible Histories books but I thought the illustrations were very cool and colourful. My favourite King was Alfred the Great because he was not scared of battle or anything! If you want to know about all the kings and queens of our past, read this book!
Toby from Year 5, Saltersgate Junior School:
Top 5 Kings & Queens I think this is a brilliant book if you are interested in history or the Royal family (I liked it because it had 'potty poems on each monarch and these were quite funny). It is full of jokes but also really factual and interesting. I think it's best parts are the top 10 Welsh, Scottish and Irish rulers. I would definitely recommend this book and rate it 10/10. Will you be reading it soon? Keep reading and goodbye!
Lorenna from Year 5, Saltersgate Junior School:
Top 50 Kings & Queens is a really good book if you want to learn about different famous people from the past. I really enjoyed this book and it also gave me some facts for my work, which was really helpful.I would definitely recommend this book. This book would really help anyone with any homework or just general school work as it helped me lots with my work. I enjoyed learning about Queen Victoria (I copied the facts of this page) the other people were interesting as well such as Boudica , Henry and many more. I also enjoyed reading the little poems they had made up for each character .
