Courtney from Year 5, Saltersgate Junior School:
Polar Bear Explorers Club is one of the best books I have ever read! My favourite part was when Stella ALMOST got iced to death by a VICIOUS pack of Frosties... My least favourite part was when the Boy kept mouning and mouning as he had had a GRISLY past... I really enjoyed this book and I reccomend it to you 9 out of 10!
Rhyan from Year 6, Morley Place Academy:
I like this book because it teaches people how explorers like Ernest Shackleton would have survived on their Journeys. Also, I like how Alex bell has used his imagination to create a inspiration of book to bookworms like me. Alex has such creativity in his heart. I hope he makes books like this in the future.
chloe from Year 5, Saltersgate Junior School:
Polar Bear Explorers Club is a fascinating book filled with twists, turns, unicorns, polar bears, frostys and CARNIVEROUS CABBAGES! Amazing, but slightly boring, this book is a bit in-your-face and random. I really really like it though! My favourite character is Beanie, even though he may be a little selfish sometimes... My favourite part of the story is when the living cabbage bites Beanie. This book is definitely recommended for people who are into adventure and mystery...The author makes me feel full of different emotions. Why don't you give it a try?
jorja from Year 5, Saltersgate Junior School:
I rate this book a 4 because I didn't really enjoy it because it wasn't extremely exciting it's about a girl called stella , Stella Starflake and she is an orphan but then she goes on an expedition with her dad who found her but it is not her real one but the problem is that girls are not allowed to go but she did what will happen red the book.
Cameron from Year 8, The Armthorpe Academy:
This great book is about resilience, understanding and determination. Only true explorers can belong to the The Polar Bear Explorers Club and only men. That is until Stella Starflake Pearl is granted permission to accompany her father, Felix and his team of scientific explorers on a quest to find the coldest part of Icelands. However, things dont go quite to plan. on arrival at their destination, Stella and her friends Ethan, Beanie and Shay become separated from the team. They are on their own in the great Unknown. The fast-paced style cleverly drives the reader forward from one cliff-hanger to the next and it is within all the exciting events that we see a bond form between four young explorers as they gain a greater understanding of each other. The book is well written and keeps you wanting to read more, and there are some brilliant illustrations in the book, i love the ice castle.
Grace from Year 5, Saltersgate Junior School:
This book was quite exciting but unfortunately it got a bit confusing at the end. This book is about a girl called Stella and she wants to be an explorer and she goes on a expedition with some others kids called Ethan and beanie and shay. If you like adventure stories I would go for this book because it is all about adventures and expeditions. What would you rate this book? Read it and see.
