Fatima from Year 7, Hall Cross Academy:

I read this book last year in year six and it was amazing. Once I had started reading it I could not put it back down. All the characters in this book have something strange about them other than Violet who is new to the town. In this town everyone has to wear glasses to stop them from going blind. However Violet has found a dark secret in this seemingly perfect town. I would recommend this book to people who like adventure with just the right amount of scares and friends.

Molly from Year 5, Morley Place Academy:

I love this book because it was very interesting and I like how the girl Violet didn't like this place so she starts a battle and tries to get the people in perfect there imaginations back. I also like that she saves the people in no _ man's _ land and gets there families back .

'A Place Called Perfect', is the perfect book for people who enjoy mysteries and a thrilling adventure! Once I started reading this book, I just couldn't put it down, since when a chapter finished, it left you wanting more. I would definitely recommend this book to people who love mysteries and a whole lot of plot twists! The story is about a girl, Violet, who is forced to move to another city, due to her father's profession. He is an ophthalmologist (essentially an eye surgeon), which is what Perfect need. For centuries before Violet's arrival, Perfect have always had a problem with their eyes- thus the creation of the rose-tinted spectacles. If you wore these, you would miraculously be able to see, however, if you took them off for even one second your sight would go fuzzy and blurry. The Archer twins were the inventors of these glasses, also the people who welcome you into your new home, inventor of the Archer's delicious tea AND the two people who have the highest status in town! Sense anything suspicious? Well Violet did, so she investigated the town of Perfect. Things weren't as they always seemed in Perfect...

Isla from Year 5, Saltersgate Junior School:

You know when your parents say reading is good for your health , well it is but you always have to stop eventually. The thing is I couldn't. Sometimes I wouldn't go to bed until 10 o'clock because I was reading this book. This book was outstanding so if you like adventure and mystery this is the book for you. The main character Violet discoverers some weird things about her town she had just moved into (Perfect.) Her dad disappears, some people were going blind if they didn't wear glasses and her mam is acting strange. Does she find her dad...?
