Chloe from Year 5, Saltersgate Junior School:
Riddle Of The Runes is a terribly mysterious book with twists and turns around every corner! I really enjoyed this book and I found it extremely fascinating, I loved looking at all the runes and what they mean and what they stand for! I tried to spell my name and I loved it! Although finding what peoples names would be in runes was amazing, it was extremely challenging! Contrarily, I found it tough to get into the story but once I got going the content of the pages became more exciting as I plunged deeper into this book of bewilderment! I gave this book an 8 because although I enjoyed it, I found the start slightly tedious and lifeless. The further I got into the book the more ecstatic I became! I love this book and I would recommend it to readers who have a long attention span!
Courtney from Year 5, Saltersgate Junior School:
Riddle of the Runes is a really good book. It is about a girl called Alva who has a mystery to solve. Her father went a- Viking and didn't come back. She must find out what the hidden runes on an ancient casket ( made of bone ) mean to find a hidden treasure. My favourite part is when Alva walks up Giant's Finger ( a mountain) all by herself in the middle of the night with a suspicious character lurking around to crack the code. My least favourite part is when the town seer, Sigrunn, attempts making a sacrifice to the Viking town's animals. All in all, this book has suspense, brain strengthening puzzles and much much more. Please read this book and tell me what you think.

I loved this book and I would recommend it to all ages and to people with a long attention span. I rate this a 9 however I didn't like where it was set for some apparent reason but all in all its a great book and I loved everything about it (except for that one fault. This is why I gave it a 9.
