I think that this book would be a great book for people who love historical real life adventures with a twist.

milly from Year 7, Hall Cross Academy:

At first, i found the book quite boring and hard to get in to however i kept reading until the end and eventually found it fairly interesting. i carried on reading because it is the sort of book that seems like there was going to be a twist in the plot on every page; even if there isn't. to start off the story Lady Mary is talking to her mother- Anne Boleyn. This part is good as it tells the background story and how the characters got to where they are. In summery, i would rate this story 6 out of 10 and recommend it to people interested in history and in the age group of 8-16. If you enjoy reads that draws you in with a pinch of excitement and mystery, then this is definitely for you. however, if you need a book that is more adventurous from the start, you should probably look for a different book instead.

Ella from Year 8, Hall Cross Academy:

I haven't finished this book yet... but the parts that i have read have been tension filled and have made me sorry for the main character Princess Mary or as the book title says Lady Mary. I would recommend this to any one who is interested in history and is looking for a really good read. This book makes me want to know more about the life of princess Mary of Tudor because it is a literary non fiction book meaning that it is a biography but told in a story form.I think that this book is for people 9 and above because for some younger readers it would be better that they were read to because they will still love it but they will struggle to understand this book. I love this book, and I know that you will LOVE it too! So stop what you are doing and pick up this book!!!

Harvey from Year 7, The Armthorpe Academy:

Mary was the daughter of Katherine of Aragon and Henry VIII. Katherine was Henrys first wife, who he wanted a divorse from to marry Anne Boleyn and who he had a daughter, Elizabeth (I) so Marys half sister. Both girls were in line to rule England. This though is Marys story, the story that made a young girl into the Queen she was. The story tells of her fathers desperate need to sire a son and determination to marry Anne Boleyn, the lack of a son from Boleyn ultimately resulted in her death, and with this he married Jane Seymour. The Tudors, for me, start English history. They werent perfect. Then again, history was a different place. They did things differently then their knowledge and beliefs were diverse too, they are the people Id like to meet from the past there are so many questions. Not just of this period, but of Elizabeths time on the throne, and Marys too that i would like to ask them. Our history would be so bland if it werent for this extraordinary family! Please read this book, Lucy Worsley is so interesting and a proper historian on TV, so the story is well researched, i also liked Eliza Rose by this author
