Suzy from Year 7, Hall Cross Academy:
It's hard to find the perfect book isn't it? A book that is absolutely impossible to put down well I've found one... Splash! I would recommend to all ages as I think it's important that everyone knows that they can follow their dreams and no one can hold them back. I love this book as it is inspirational full of twist and turns. In addition, this book is jam packed with unexpected excitement and drama. All Molly wants to do is 'fit in' with her friends and that's when she is under pressure to keep secret and that's not all. When Molly's Mum turns up things take a twist. I was on the edge of my seat thinking constantly in my head what was Molly going to do. I would rate this book 10 out of 10 as it is inspirational and kept me on the edge of my seat. So why don't you read Splash?
milly from Year 7, Hall Cross Academy:
I found splash a very entertaining book. Many aspects contributed to me thinking this but one that really made up my mind was when Molly's (the main character) mum arrived to her Nan's house (where molly lives) as a surprise. This leads to drama excitement and some emotional events. As in most great books, the plot, towards the end, twists and makes for an emotional and happy ending for all characters. This book is great for girls who are at the end of year six, started year seven and/or is experiencing friendship problems. I wouldn't particularly recommend this book to boys but depending on their personality, they might enjoy it. FOR FUN, DRAMA AND AN EMOTIONAL JOURNEY, READ 'SPLASH' NOW !!!!
Hannah from Year 8, - Home Educated -:
Splash is written by Charli Howard and this is her first children's novel and I think its amazing. Its about a girl called Molly who wants to be a champion swimmer but when her best friend tries to convince her to give up the sport and Molly is left with the choice of fitting in or doing what she loves and if that's not complicated enough then her mum who left her when she was 3 turns up at her door! I absolutely love this book I also love swimming so that made me love it even more! I would recommend this book to people ten plus.
Court from Year 5, Saltersgate Junior School:
'Splash' is a really good book. It is about a girl called Molly who really wants to take part in a swimming competition, but her best friend is against that. What will Molly do? Read this book to find out. Molly lives with her Nan and Grandad. To add to the drama, Molly's Mum comes back into her life with a dramatic reveal. Her best friend is called Chloe along with Ed, her swim mate. Definitely NOT boyfriend! From being left alone in the town square to being betrayed by her mother everything that is weird and dramatic seems to happen to Molly in this amazing book. This book is full of emotions and feelings backstage. The author made me feel happy and sad all the way through this amazing book.
Toby from Year 5, Saltersgate Junior School:
Splash This was an excellent book and it really made me feel for some of the characters. Another reason I like it is, it's written as a diary so you can almost get to know the main character and how she feels about certain things. My favourite part is at the end where all of the friends, who had fallen out, made up! It's full of touching scenes and moments when you realise why some of the characters had been acting the way they had. I would definitely recommend it especially to readers age 8-14. Of course I give it a 10/10. I hope you enjoyed this review and learn from it. Thank you and goodbye!
