I really like this book because its really interesting and mysterious. My favorite character is Hermione because she is always happy but she is not happy when bad things happen because when bad things happen i'm never happy. My favorite part is were everyone is wearing the hat at Hogwarts and when the hat is talking to Harry because i find it very funny but others might not. Out of 10 i give this book a 9. This book is amazing and it's not that hard so i am going to read more Harry Potter books .

Harry Potter and the Philosopher stone is great book I would recommend it to all ages above 6. This is a great, witty book and I think J.K Rowling did a fantastic job of it. My 2 favourite characters are Harry Potter because he is an amazing character and is always there for his friends. My 2nd favourite character is Ron Weasley he has the same traits as me witty, curious and a coward just like me! I would rate this book 9/10 yes 9/10 it is great I love it. My favourite bit is when Harry Potter finds out he is a wizard. Harry Potter is amazing I definitely would read again even though I've read it twice. The greatest thing about this book is the imagination it is very imaginative and J.K did great with the book. Would you read this book because of this review I would?

Violet from Year 5, Saltersgate Junior School:

This book is for ages 8+ it is the 1st Harry Potter book named the Philosophers Stone. it is where Harry finds out that he is a wizard, Hagrid (also a wizard) helps Harry get ready to go to Hogwarts where amazingly Harry also finds out he is famous. Harry is also having a hard time at Hogwarts because of a boy named Draco Malfoy, who is absolutely horrible to Harry, which isn't fair because Harry has done nothing wrong to Malfoy(they name Draco Malfoy just Malfoy in the book and film) Will Harry be able to ignore Malfoy and find the Special Stone? Will there be an adventure? Will Malfoy stop being mean? My favourite part is when the sorting hat sorts everyone into there classes! I recommend this book to anyone over 7 or 8.

Freya from Year 5, Saltersgate Junior School:

This book is one of my favourites because there is lots of adventure in it. Also after reading this book I was motivated to read the rest of the books. This book is about a boy who is stuck at the Dursleys with his mean aunt and uncle and his cousin Dudley who doesn't like him. However one day letters start dropping at privet drive and the Dursleys burn them and move house. On Harry's 11th birthday Hagrid the giant stormed in and broke the news to Harry that he was a wizard and going to go to Hogwarts School of Witchcraft and Wizardry. My favourite part is when Harry gets past the three headed dog. (fluffy) will they collect the philosopher stone?

Harry Potter and The Philosophers Stone I really enjoyed the book. I would recommend this book for people who like adventure magic and surprises. My favourite character is Harry Potter because he is brave and he never gives up. My favourite part was when Hagrid took Harry shopping for a wand. Now about the characters Ron is nice, kind and funny. Harry is the main character. What do you think will happen?

Matilda from Year 5, Saltersgate Junior School:

This is the first Harry Potter book by J.k Rowling. This book is about a young boy named Harry Potter who discovered who he really is. At this point I was really interested and wondered what was going to happen next. As I carried on reading I found the part where we se a mysterious character lurking behind a rock in the middle of the forbidden forest, where nobody should go).My favourite part was where they had the quidditch match. My favourite wizard is Professor McGonagall. My favourite character is Hermonie Granger. I would recommend this book to people who like books full of adventures

Danielle from Year 8, De Warenne Academy:

I rally enjoy the Harry Potter series and the first book sets the scene for all the books right up to the cursed child. In this book it shows the struggle every first year will go through at some point making friends. Ron and Harry met at the station trying to get on to the platform, the boys licked instantly however it took a bit longer with Hermione. Little did they know they would become best friends.

Molly from Year 9, Ridgewood School:

The start of the best magical series. It is an amazing page turner and has you hooked at page one. With a tragic past, 11 year old Harry escapes his aunt and uncle to a magical world and the best school of witch craft and wizardry. Although Hogwarts is now housing a precious secret that dark wizards seek. You won't regret reading this book!

Isobel from Year 5, Saltersgate Junior School:

I love this book its about a boy who is a wizard. I think that because I watched the film before I read the book it was easier to picture the characters. My favourite character is Ron Weasly because he is very funny. Ron bites at his brothers when they tease him. He has no parents because the legendary Voldemort killed them and amazingly Harry lived. He goes to live with his aunt and uncle and gets a letter from Hogwarts. How will he get on at Hogwarts? Read it to find out.

Isla from Year 5, Saltersgate Junior School:

This is the first book of the series. It is a fantasy and adventure book that is easy to read and I just wanted to keep reading. My favorite characters are Fred and George Weasley because they are hilarious and love to tease their brothers (Ron and Percy) just like I tease my sister sometimes. Also, I like them as they are mischievous. My favorite part of the book is when Harry, Hermonie and Ron are looking for the Philosopher's Stone and they have to play a game of chess, so they can get through the door. Another challenge is when they have to catch the right flying key to open the door to the next room. I had watched the film before I had read the book, I though the was better because it had more detail. There are lots of differences between the two here are some; *In the film when the glass disappears at the zoo, Dudley falls into the snake cage and the glass reappears, however in the book the glass disappears, no one falls in and the glass does nit reappear. *In the book the chess people talk, in the film they don't talk. *In the book when they are trying to find the Philosopher's Stone they have to solve a riddle an drink the right potion to walk through the fire to get to the stone, but in the film none of this happened. I would recommend this to children m age and above.
