Isla from Year 5, Saltersgate Junior School:
Cogheart is a very good book, with a great story line about a girl called Lily, her dad and her friend Robert who go on an adventure because people believe Lily's dad is dead and she is out to prove them all wrong. At times I did find the way it was written confusing and had to recap, as it is split into 2. There where two things happening at once, for example Lily was having an operation and at the same time Robert and Malkin were trying to break into the Airship, so the book kept flicking back and forth. This book has lots of twists and turns which were good and kept you guessing, I like this in a novel and the ending is very good also. I would recommend this book to everyone, the only way it would score a ten is if it was written differently.
Isobel from Year 5, Saltersgate Junior School:
This book is so good, it has a great storyline about a girl called Lily and a boy called Robert. Lily's mum died when Lily was 6 years old. Lily lived with her Dad and maid as well as Malkin who is a mechanimal. But at the beginning of the story Lily is at a boarding school with no friends and horrible teachers. She punches while trying to help people, but gets in trouble Will you be next to read this amazing book?

Jorja from Year 6, Montagu School, Mexborough:
I thought this book was really exciting and when I picked the book up, I couldn't put it back down as the book had so many twists and turns in the events I wanted to know more. The author has wrote an amazing book that I think is one of the best that I have ever read so far and I really can't wait to read 'moonlocket' as it probably will be outstanding just like cogheart. I gave this book ten out of ten because it shows that girls and children can do things just as well as boys and adults and it was full with exciting adventures.
oliwia from Year 6, Montagu School, Mexborough:
I really enjoyed this book it is great and full of adventures! when I got deeper in the book I thought the silver eyed men were very scary. Also I thought lily was never going to find her father but as I read further I came to a conclusion that lily was going to find her farther and I was correct. I highly recommend this book to other primary school readers as it is an amazing book full of adventures I give it a full 10 out of 10. It was really cool , at first I thought the book was very boring however when I got into the book it was more and more interesting. I have to say that the author did a great job even an fantastic job writing a book packed with adventures and I am really eager to get my hands on moonlocket! I enjoy this book because it shows that girls have a power to do various things not just boys. as I said I highly recommend this book to my friends that are book worms just like me! this book took me a long time however it was worth every minute I spend on it. it was truly worth it! as I am a book worm I come across different good books but this is the best one so far!

Samuel C from Year 5, Saltersgate Junior School:
Cog Heart, with my opinion it is not a very exciting or good, I enjoyed the prologue and then from that I didn't like it, I must say chapter 1 I know its the beginning but its extremely boring I could fall asleep! My favourite character would be tough I really didn't enjoy this book so it would have to be maybe the clockwork fox I liked his character. I find it hard to remember most of it,it wasn't very enjoyable for me but maybe it will be for you. The best bit I found interesting which I don't know why but the bit where the Father of the main character gives her magazines but there not appropriate so the teacher confiscates them I don't know I why I like this. Do you like this book or not?
Eleanor from Year 9, Ridgewood School:
‘Your father is missing and may be dead’ These are the words that stabbed young Victorian girl Lilly’s heart as she found out the terrible news. With sorrow, heartache and confusion holding back her life, a mechanical fox named Malkin may hold the answers and clues to find out what has really happened. Who has the key to the answer? Will Lilly reunite with her dad? Or it is true that her dad is really laid to rest? It’s all happening- discover the truth in Cogheart! I enjoyed discovering what was going on in this book because of its enchanting and relaxed feel going on in the plot. Every page, character and scene was not rushed and you could clearly see the author had taken the time to clearly think out every sentence structure to make sure the reader enjoyed and understood what was going on. To add on to this, I really enjoyed the amazing descriptions of every place and person. The whole I reason I felt that the book was very enchanting was because of the superb descriptions ; none of them lacked imagination and it was like you were in some sort of perfect land as everything was described fully with amazement! Overall a marvellous book that any age would remember! If you love to learn lots about characters, plots and scenes then this book is jammed with amazing ideas any reader would be proud to read.
Jade from Year 8, Rossington All Saints School:
In my opinion this was a really good book. it has features that no other book has. This book is a really good book for younger people to read and explore all of the good things about it.
