Anna from Year 8, Healing School - A Science Academy:
This book was given such high reviews by different authors so I had very high expectations however, I could not personally give it a positive review at all. The story started off really well and the mysterious beginning got me hooked straight away. After a while, the book became boring and the amount of unneeded detail started to become extremely boring. I am a avid and resilient reader however so I continued to trudge through each page painstakingly. I found the characters unrealistic, the plot line way to complicated to make sense and the story kept stopping then starting again. I really wanted to enjoy it, I did, but it really did nothing for me at all. Putting all that aside, Jennifer Calder did write an exceptionally good novel and should be very pleased with her over all work.
Wiktoria from Year 8, Don Valley Academy and Performing Arts College:
The Secret of Skara Vhore is a good book. There's lot's of character development and action. The plot and characters are very interesting and I enjoyed it.
Abbey from Year 8, De Warenne Academy:
I would give this book a 5 out of 10.I didn't like this book because it is about this girl who lives in rotten home on her own just her and this random cat. One day this tall kind girl come to the cold rotten place she see the little girl the tall girls name was Cassie and she tries to speak to the little girl but there was no answer. The next day Cassie came back to rotten house too speak to the girl again and this time got an answer off of the little girl, the first thing she said was her name was Katie.
